This is India’s MOM (Mars Orbiter Mission) and PSLV rocket. The MOM was developed by the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization).

The MOM will be studying the upper atmosphere of Mars, along with NASA’s MAVEN orbiter, which will launch around two weeks from today.

Hopefully, India’s MOM will successfully reach the red planet. Previous attempts from both China and Japan have failed.

The ISRO will be hosting a live stream of the launch on their website, at www.isro.org. You can also watch the stream on the Indian government’s video portal, at http://webcast.gov.in/live/.

The launch will be at 14:38 IST, or 09:08 GMT, which is 5:08 PM Malaysian Time (GMT+8).

The webcast will begin at 4.30 PM (Malaysian time).

Lightspeed!
