What is The Universe made of? Lots of stuff – most of which we don’t know much about.
There are hundreds of billions of galaxies in the known Universe, and an average sized galaxy contains a few hundred billion stars. Our own Milky Way contains about 200-400 billion stars, and at least half of those stars have planets in orbit around them. The largest galaxy we know of contains about 100 trillion stars. That is 100,000,000,000,000 or 10^14 stars.
A little overwhelming, isn’t it? But all these stars, all these planets, all this energy and matter and life that we know of only make up about 4% of The Universe.
What about the other 96%? What’s that made of? Dark Matter and Dark Energy. What is Dark Matter? What is Dark Energy? What are they made of? We have no clue – we only know that they exist. How? Check out the link below 🙂What's 96 percent of the Universe made of? (space.com)
